Active in the Cierges region (Aisne) between 1855 and 1859. Set of negatives on waxed paper and positives on salted paper made in the Cierges region (Hauts de France) by a gentleman, amateur photographer. The proofs are dated from 1855 to 1859 and essentially represent the property of our calotypist, located in the center of the village of Cierges facing the Notre Dame church, the surrounding countryside as well as the villages of Fère and Coulonges. Our calotypist uses negatives on waxed paper according to the process of Gustave Le Gray, a process described in the third edition of his “New theoretical and practical treatise on processes and manipulations on paper and on glass” published in 1852.
